About this event

We are pleased to announce a day of photography at Bruntingthorpe with 3 Lightnings which will be displayed in various cameos both on their own, and then with our wonderful group of historic re-enactors both in and outside the period correct QRA sheds that also form part of the LPG'S and USP.

There will be an Anti-Det run of one of the aircraft during the afternoon so you can experience up close the sights and sounds of one of these former QRA airframes fire up its engines and be put through the various tasks needed to allow the engineers ensure they plane is working correctly and there are no faults.  You will be required to have full ear defenders so please make a note now to ensure you have yours ready for this fantastic opportunity!

We have a number of ideas up our sleeve to make this a different experience to previous photography events at the collection, so you are assured of a great afternoons photography regardless of whether this is your first visit or yet another return for you. Either way you will be supporting the LPG in keeping these wonderful and unique pieces of British Engineering alive for us now and for future generations to enjoy.

The LPG are privileged to have 3 complete English Electric Lightnings including the only uncut F3 Lightning in the world and they take great pride and care to preserve them for future generations.  To find out more about the history of their Lightnings, please visit their site by clicking here

Our afternoon will start at 13.00 with a short safety briefing and the event will run until 18:30.

This promises to be another excellent event and we look forward to seeing many of you in Leicestershire for an exciting five-hour feast of aviation photography.
